Save Our Soil

Save Our Soil ....Why advertising?  (See 'About us' for our story till now)

Check us out on  http://www.youtube.com/saveoursoil

Advertising is a great way for companies and individuals to become financially involved with our farm without the work or any ongoing commitment. It's a form of Community Supported Agriculture, in that it will help fund our projects on the farm and still keep our food at a reasonable price, so everyone can afford it.  Advertising allows companies to support us, increase sales of their own, reduce carbon to the atmosphere (by supporting organic farming) and get a tax deduction all at once.

After many years of difficult weather conditions (drought and then flood), I have decided the best way to ensure a regular supply of fruit and vegetables is to grow some of them in controlled conditions in hot houses, still in the soil but with plastic covers to better control wind, temperature and rainfall.

With nature and food markets being so unpredictable, I have wanted to keep my borrowings to a minimum.  I would prefer to use my creativity to come up with ways to raise money for the projects we need to do and supply our clients with the healthiest food possible.  As organic farmers you tend to make do with what you have on the land, so I thought why not extend that to our financing as well.

I was inspired reading a story on the internet one night, about a young guy who wanted to put himself through university and came up with an idea of selling advertising at a $1 per pixel. He sold thousands of pixels and not only put himself through college, but made a fulltime living out of it as well.

I wanted an idea that was going to take only a small amount of time, that could attract the 10's of thousands needed, wasn't affected by weather and I could sell internationally.  I have seen other companies and individuals do similar things with advertising so whilst digging weeds by hand, I came up with this idea to pay for new hothouses or at least put money towards them. So if you would like to become involved just go to our advertising button under 'Product categories' on our website.  Another way to help us out is just to buy some of our products.

We hope to attract the interest of magazines and other media to bring attention to your support. For more information contact Mark at  info@organicfoodandwine.com.au
